Vermilion Cashmere is the Australian arm of a family run business based in the UK and Nepal. Our products range from the finest quality cashmere for men, women and children to beautifully knitted cotton, pashmina, scarves and wraps. Cashmere is the fine soft downy undercoat shed annually by the Caprus Hircus goats living in the high plateaus surrounding the Gobi Desert (the Gobi Desert stretches from Northern China into Mongolia). The goat's outer hair is coarse to repel the harsh weather conditions. Under this coarse outer layer there is a much finer fiber. That fiber is cashmere. The amazingly soft cashmere fiber keeps the goats warm from the bitter cold. Due to its location and time taken to gather cashmere has become a personal luxury. Once you have worn cashmere you will always own a piece of cashmere as its quality and softness is outstanding. Our cashmere comes from Mongolia and all our items are made in Nepal. Each piece is made individually so you can choose your style, colour and size without restriction. We do not keep stock and have a low minimum order. Orders are normally delivered within 8-10 weeks. We have a high standard of work ethic. So much so we started our own charity “The Human Touch” to help the local communities in Kathmandu. We are, as a family business, the sole donors. We have managed to build 2 schools, wells for water supply, provided medicines, operations and bedding for hospitals. |
